Description
The serial number dates this lovely instrument to 1981 and is in bright silver plate rather than satin. I suspect it was a lacquered instrument that has been re plated at some point in its history. It has had a new Besson receiver fitted so takes a large bore mouthpiece. The valves are good with positive action and good compression. The 1st valve looks to be a more modern replacement but has been honed properly to fit. The tone across the range is superb with a very focused place for each note. Even those pesky D’s at the top of the stave speak effortlessly. There are a few bumps and blemishes which to be expected for a 40+ year old instrument of this size. The case is a solid black Besson hard shell case with good wheels and a brand new pulling handle. This case is slightly smaller than the new ones so fractionally easier to transport. All catches and hinges are intact
