I am pretty sure Mr Mead did not have plastic instruments in mind when he developed his range of valve springs but boy what an improvement. Fitted with a decent set of felts the valve action is now very good.
This euphonium also had a broken valve top and as the spares are not available it was only being used as a three-valve instrument. With a very clever man and a 3D printer we have produced a replacement.
As well as the valve tops, clip-on Lyre boxes and replacement water keys are also available.
