I acquired this long model cornet in several bits and considered scrapping it for parts. I am glad that I ignored my instinct and set about repairing it which included;
straightening and re attaching the lead pipe,
removing dents and bell crease,
removing the lacquer that was in poor condition,
removing broken water keys and upgrading with Amado replacements,
converting static 3rd valve slide and adding a slide stop,
de scaling, chemical cleaning ,
Ultrasonically cleaning the valves then polishing.

The end result is a stunning raw brass cornet that blows great with a full rich tone. The trouble being I have invested heart and sole into this beastie and can not bear to part with it.
Another one to add to the collection, oops
